Beyond our walls
What it means to be a friend of Workshop.
Beyond the walls of 47 Southgate Street we are connected to a fantastic network of individuals and businesses. Workshop itself actively supports local initiatives and charities such as TEDxWinchester, Winchester Creatives and Play To The Crowd.
Our members have been instrumental in the rebranding work for Winchester Churches Nightshelter, now Winchester Beacon, and each Christmas Rocket Launch PR coordinates a fundraiser to provide Everyman Cinema Tickets or takeaway meals for the nightshelter residents. Others have volunteered their time to provide mentoring through the Winchester Creatives initiative led by Dan Benham and Richard Coope.
We use local suppliers such as Winchester Coffee Roasters and Char Teas and much of our furniture is also sourced locally and with sustainability in mind. For example, we have used Southampton Wood Recycling for a bespoke large desk in one of our offices and our signature individual desks use recycled Iroko desktops supplied by Re4med in Dorset and legs from Wiltshire fabricators The Hairpin Leg Company.
Sustainable business

We are more than happy for not-for-profit organisations linked to our members to use our space outside office hours for meetings and have hosted the Winchester Poetry Club, Winchester Young Liberals and Extinction Rebellion among others.
Our Ignite events connect like-minded people through their passions and ideas.
